Knowledge is vital today and for tomorrow, rather it has been for all times and for all societies. It plays the fundamental role in bringing people together, triggering thoughts, sharing experiences, helping communication, conserving knowledge and pursuing value additions in all domains of life. For decades, different regional and international development and research organizations are extensively engaged in producing a variety of knowledge regarding different aspects of life of people living in these ranges.
These site-specific efforts are mostly unknown and unfamiliar to the mountain communities and other researchers, academics, students and development professionals for reuse and practical implementations. Accessibility is thus the main obstacle in the evolution of indigenous knowledge in the mountain communities.
KADO initiated to publish the first quarterly development journal from the Karakoram in order to facilitate knowledge dissemination and help in assimilation and further growth of mountain knowledge.
It is believed that this product like others, will have perennial impact on the society as it intends to provide information on variety of subjects to help and cater the information needs of students, researchers, scholars, youth, elderly, men, women, development associates, scientists, donors, local organization, Government, non government organization and private sector.
